Ely Cannon started his career in video games at
ArenaNet in Bellevue, WA working on the
Guild Wars franchise. Ely began work at ArenaNet as a Level Artist, working with both Level Design and Environment Art.
His title was transitioned to Environment Artist and eventually he was promoted to sub lead. From ArenaNet Ely moved onto
Blizzard Entertainment to help complete work on
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade as a Senior Level Designer. After completing BC, Ely was promoted to Lead Exterior Artist and put in charge of the artistic output of a team of 10 Level Designers. His current focus is the direction of the art for exterior zones.
Before working in games Ely held positions as a VFX artist at Victory Studios-Seattle, ISolve-Bellevue, GCreative-Vancouver and as a production artist at Hispanivision, Hot Java, and Designs Ltd.
Ely also teaches part time at Laguna College of Art and Design in the newly formed Game Art Department.
