Stephen McCallum

Developer BIO

Stephen McCallum is an animator and illustrator. He has won several awards including Best Short Film at the 1992 International Environmental Film Festival in Sao Palo, Brazil for his film From Flores. Stephen has directed several animated shorts for the National Film Board of Canada and he has worked extensively with commercial animation studios around the world including Disney and Hannah Barbara.

Stephen has illustrated 5 children's books including the classic, Belle's Journey published in 1993 by Orca Book publishers and written by Marilynn Reynolds. Belle went on to become a Canadian best seller and is also published in both German and Japanese.

For the past 5 years, Stephen has worked almost exclusively as a digital artist and animator in the computer game industry. He is passionate about the computer as a creative tool and is now working from his home in Victoria as an independent multi media artist.

He worked on the following games:Between December 1996 and July 1998 he also freelanced from his home studio for a variety of clients including Disney Interactive based in Victoria. This work was mostly traditional 2D animation designed for CD-ROM projects. Other clients included: Cricket Magazine, Cinar Animation and Hasbro Toys.
