Wes Potter is a principal software development engineer at Microsoft in Canada since 2010. Previously he was a technical director / senior software engineer at Electronic Arts in Canada between 2006 and 2010.
He started in the games industry as a software engineer at Manley & Associates in 1995. When the company was acquired by Electronic Arts in 1996 and renamed EA Seattle, he continued working there until it was closed in 2002, and then moved to EA Canada in December 2002. During his tenure at EA he has been mainly involved with the Need for Speed series.
Wes Potter graduated in 1995 with a Masters in Fine Arts from Central Washington University and initially applied at Manley & Associates for the position of a CG Artist, but based on his knowledge of programming languages and his masters thesis, he was promptly hired as a full-time engineer.
