Nick started in the gaming industry in 1991 as an intern with MicroProse during his college studies. He graduated from the Maryland Institute with a Bachelors of Fine Arts.

He spent 5 years at MicroProse where he was the animator and illustrator on titles such as Fleet Defender Gold, Sid Meier's Civilization, CivNet and Civilization II.

He then joined Firaxis where he is one of the original members of their team.
