Thorsten Mutschall (b. 19th December, 1970) was already developing games during his school years with a few friends. They created games for the Atari ST in their spare time and produced them with companies like Kingsoft, Starbyte and Rainbow Arts.

Right after the Abitur (equivalent to high school diploma) he was employed as graphic designer by Thalion, a company which was founded by a few friends from the demo-scene. Together with this team he switched to Blue Byte in the mid-nineties, where he worked on games like Albion and The Settlers III and The Settlers IV, The Settlers: Heritage of Kings.

In 2007 he is a Lead Artist on The Settlers: Rise of an Empire.
