Jordan MechnerDeveloper BIO
Jordan Mechner was born in New York City and graduated from Yale University in 1985. He wrote his first game,
Deathbounce, in 1982 for the Apple II platform, but it was never published. His subsequent creations included
Karateka and
Prince of Persia. The latter won numerous awards, including the 1992 Tilt D`Or and MacUser Eddy Awards, has been translated into several languages and ported to various platforms. A screenwriter and independent filmmaker, Jordan also produced, wrote and directed the documentary film
Waiting for Dark. In 1993, Jordan formed
Smoking Car Productions, an entertainment software development group based in San Francisco.
