Born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 17, 1919, Kathleen Freeman was a versatile character actress who appeared in dozens of films, TV shows, and Broadway plays. Known for her jowls, Freeman appeared in the films Singin' in the Rain (1952), North to Alaska (1960), and The Blues Brothers (1980). She performed in Broadway's The Full Monty days before her death. She died at the age of 82 in New York City on Aug. 23, 2001.
