Derek Warner is a level designer currently at Zipper Interactive, a division of Sony Computer Entertainment of America.
In 2000 Derek attended The Art Institute of Phoenix, studying Video Game Art and Design. During school he created Copperhead: Retaliation, a mod for Dungeon Siege.
In 2003 Derek was hired as an environmental artist at Sierra Entertainment. He worked on a game titled “Special Forces” for the PC that was canceled in 2004 when Sierra shut their doors. During this time he also wrote and designed the multiplayer component of the game, along with all the multiplayer levels.
In 2004 Derek was hired by Perception, a startup game company in Sydney Australia. At Perception he worked on Stargate Sg1: The Alliance for PC, Xbox, and PS2. He designed the first two levels of the game from paper map to completion. He left the company in 2005 to work at Ubisoft Montreal. Soon after the company shut its doors and the game was canceled.
In 2005 Derek moved to Montreal, Quebec to work on Rainbow Six Vegas at Ubisoft Montreal for the Xbox 360. At Ubi he created the 2nd level of Vegas of the Calypso Casino. Rainbow Six Vegas for the Xbox 360 shipped on November 20th, 2006 .
In 2006 Derek was hired at Zipper Interactive to work on the multiplayer levels for Socom: Combined Assault. He designed all the multiplayer levels for Socom: CA. Socom: Combined Assault, which shipped on November 7th, 2006 .
Currently Derek works at Zipper Interactive on an unannounced next generation title.
