Phil Grabmiller

Developer BIO

Phil Grabmiller got his B.S. in Range Science at the University of Idaho. He lives in Southern California. He has two sons Alex and Andrew, who did the voice overs for the kids at the beach in Backpacker: The Lost Florence Goldmine.

Many of the elements of the story of Backpacker were based on his years at the University. After being a musician, he started Backpacker as a text adventure and when he met Richard Williams in a chatroom of the Prodigy on-line service, they decided to turn it into a graphic adventure. With Richard he founded Animagination.

He left the company early in 1999, and went on to work for Microsoft, where he still works, but not in the games division (2008).
