Developer Biography

After completing a 5 year design course and obtaining a Diploma (60/60) at the State Institute of Arts in Milan, Italy Claudio continued his training at his father's, Oliviero Berni, Studio in Milan and with personal studies. He began collaborating with graphics studios and publishers since school. Then Claudio worked full time as a Visualizer first and Art Director shortly after for several Italian advertising and promotion agencies including Gruppo First and Young Agency.

After building up contacts and professional experience, he began to work as freelance illustrator and graphic designer for advertising and sales promotion agencies, including: Option Italia, The Sales Machine Italia, Brand X, J &P, Catullo & Sylwan, Promoplay, etc. At the same time he also worked as freelance illustrator for all the most important Italian publishers: Mondadori, Club degli Editori, Euroclub, Sperling & Kupferl, etc. During this period he painted cover illustrations for several major Italian paperback series, including Harlequin's and Urania Fantasy.

In 1992 he began to work on a Macintosh station, realizing 2D computer graphics, 3D models and animations, games art and multimedia presentations. In 1995 he moved to London (UK) and began working as a Freelance Illustrator and Web Designer whilst collaborating with European Consulting Group and then worked on the development of CD games at Dorling Kindersley Multimedia. In 1997 moved to Cambridge (UK) to work as a Lead Artist on various PC and PS2 titles for Creature Labs.

Claudio returned to freelance and fine art painting in spring 2003. He moved back to Italy where in 2007 he currently lives and works. Currently running his own miniature games company: http://www.baueda.com for which he makes all artwork, sculptures and web design, Claudio is also taking on freelance commission work for worldwide games publishers.
