Faye Wong (王菲, Wang Fei), born August 8, 1969, is a Chinese singer, songwriter and actress. Born in Beijing, she moved to Hong Kong in 1987 and gained widespread popularity in the early 1990's by singing ballads in Cantonese. Since 1995 she has recorded mostly in her native language (Mandarin Chinese). In the video game world, Faye Wong is known for singing in Nobuo Uematsu's composition Eyes on Me in Final Fantasy VIII (1999), which is also her best-known performance in English language.
