Developer Biography

Gene Turnbow has experience in almost every aspect of game development and programming.

In 1990, he received a BA degree from UCLA's School of Motion Pictures and Television where his studies emphasized on production and screenwriting. After college, he held several computer animation positions with various firms.

In July 1995 he began work with The Dreamer's Guild and after only 4 months employment, was promoted to Scripting Supervisor and Personnel Manager in charge of all scripting activities for all games under development for the company. He was the Technical Director, programmer and Lead Level Designer for Faery Tale Adventure II: Halls of the Dead and Senior Programmer for Dinotopia.

One year later he began working for Sound Source Interactive (now TDK Mediactive). While with Sound Source, he attained the title of Senior Entertainment Programmer and is credited as a designer and programmer on Lost In Space: C.A.M.P.P. Blaster, Babylon 5: Shadow Wars and The Abyss: Incident at Europa.

After Sound Source, he worked in research and development on the LBE platform system for a short time before joining Hyper Entertainment Inc. (formerly a Sony company), where he stayed until July 2001. While at Hyper, he worked on HyperBowl (both the Arcade and Home versions) and the multiplayer game Quaternia.

Gene lives in Simi Valley, California, and now operates freelance under contract.
