Mike Bates is an Artist with Firaxis.

Mike graduated from MICA a long time ago. Primarily focusing on box cover and technical illustration (painted with actual paint) before entering the game development arena.

His artistic contribution to the world of computer games can been seen in his impressive legacy from Microprose. He was the lead artist on Across The Rhine, M1 Tank Platoon II and Gunship! and part of the art teams for Gunship 2000, F-15 III, Battletech and Civilization II. An avid player of every genre of computer game, Mike brings real depth of talent, proven leadership skills, and a passion for gaming to Firaxis. He spends his down-time working on the family farm.
