Developer Biography

Now recognised as a testing veteran within the games industry, Marcus Purvis started work as a technical supervisor in Electronic Arts at it's Chertsey Studio in Surrey. Joining the EA test organisation at a time when growth and professional drive was beginning, Marcus helped the management and leaders drive results and implement modern practices.

Recognising that working closely with developers and platform manufacturers, consulting on testing and expectations achieved results and caught bugs 'upstream', Marcus changed the process of specialist testing within EA Europe and influenced EA WW testing. This helped allow designers and developers the freedom required as well as lower cost and add confidence in the test effort.

During his time at EA Marcus tested and led teams on many AAA titles including the Harry Potter, Crysis, Battlefield and Burnout franchises. Marcus Purvis left the position of senior QA project manager to pursue new opportunities at Microsoft Game Studios within their test organisation, he is working there at the time of this writing.
