Jim Butler was part of the new North American Philips design group based in in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1981, and headed by Sam Overton.
Overton had once worked at N.A.P., and was then working at Milton Bradley with Robert S. Harris and Butler when he was called to lead the new N.A.P. design group, and he brought Harris along. Butler soon followed them.
When Overton left the group, Jim Butler became the head of it.
