Andreas Suika (b. 24th November, 1975) completed his Abitur in North Hesse (equivalent to high school diploma) and then did three years of EMS (emergency medical services) followed by studies in mechanical and safety engineering in Wuppertal, Germany.
He joined the internal beta testing department of
Blue Byte (as Lead Tester of
Battle Isle 4) until a move to data management. Later, he became a Data Wizard in data management. At the same time, he was introduced to game design and worked on tutorials and missions for
The Settlers IV.
In February 2001 he move to game design and, as leading "full-time game designer", was responsible for the design of the mission CD, the Trojan add-ons and the mission CD
Die Neue Welt. That same year, he started working on
Heritage of Kings: The Settlers as a Game Designer.
In 2007, he is a Lead Designer on
The Settlers: Rise of an Empire.
