Sean Noonan started out in the indie scene whilst attending school and college, by contributing to mods such as The Opera for Half-Life in 2001 and Action Unreal Tournament in 2004. Following college he moved into the field of electronics whilst building up a portfolio to get into the games industry and after a brief stint in insurance in 2007, was given a position at Midway as a Mission Designer on Wheelman.
Before the close of Midway in 2009, Sean was hired by Ruffian Games as a Designer on Crackdown 2, later becoming Lead Level Designer on a number of as yet unreleased projects.
In 2012, Sean Noonan was hired by Ubisoft Montreal to work on Watch Dogs.
