Patrick had always been an artist but never really did much with it until after he returned from a year of teaching English in Japan. He began work with FunKo Inc. making bobbleheads and doing package design. He started the website "PolyKarbon.com" on the side with the intent of sharing knowledge of art techniques with a slant towards anime/manga design. In 2001, he created the "Mulletron" robot for the band "Lit" which appeared in their music video for "Lipstick and Bruises".
Shortly after, he was contracted by Microsoft to create costume designs for the characters in the racing game Quantum Redshift. After that assignment he was hired on full time and have since produced art for Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Carve and Shadowrun before leaving Microsoft in 2006 to work at Sony Online Entertainment on The Agency and Planetside Next. In April 2011, Sony closed the Seattle studio and he picked up contract work at Microsoft again working on storyboards and cinematics for Star Wars Kinect as well as supplying additional concepts.
