Blaine started working in Boston for Impressions, subcontracted via Sierra/Vivendi as QA to Stainless Steel Studios working on Empire Earth.
After the launch (and success) of Empire Earth, he moved to Irrational Games, first as QA, then as an Associate Producer working on The Lost for PS3 (never released, sold, then released in India as Agni: Queen of Darkness). During his stay at Irrational he worked on SWAT 4, Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich, the original tech demos for Bioshock and some other Irrational projects (pun intended).
After leaving Irrational, Blaine took a well earned hiatus from video games for a few years to focus on family, health, and photography.
In a moment of weakness, he took a job as QA lead for Sony Online Entertainment Denver (formerly Worlds Apart) to work on Digital CCGs. The active titles in the studio were; Legends of Norrath (EQ/EQ2 CCG), Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game, Free Realms CCG and Free Realms Battles, Match Attax, Match Attax Bundesliga, Clone Wars Adventures CCG, and finally Magic The Gathering Tactics.
Titles that SOE was working on at large were EQ, EQ2, Star Wars Galaxies, Free Realms, DCUO, and other unannounced or smaller titles. (Although Dungeon Overlord Beta was a great time for all).
Blaine was laid off as part of the studio closures in 2011 and is taking another well earned hiatus from video games in order to raise his new son.
