David Reid

Developer BIO

David Reid holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Duke University.

He was a senior associate at McKinsey & Company’s San Francisco office, where he worked in the marketing and business building practices. Earlier in his career, Reid co-founded and ran NextPlanetOver, an internet retailer of popular entertainment products, until its acquisition in 2000. He previously served in the U.S. Army as a Patriot missile officer with tours of duty in the Middle East and Republic of Korea.

At Microsoft, he was director of Xbox Worldwide Platform Marketing, serving as the lead marketer for the Xbox 360 launch across product development, strategic planning and launch execution in holiday 2005. Among the marketing initiatives Reid conceived and orchestrated was the Xbox 360: Zero Hour launch event in the Mojave Desert during which 3,600 gamers participated.

In April 2006, he joined Turner Broadcasting's GameTap, a broadband entertainment video game network, as vice president of marketing.

He then joined NCsoft Corporation. On 10th September 2008 it was announced Reid would become President of Publishing of the newly-formed NCsoft West.
