During her tenure as Art Director for Nancy Drew Dossier series and Cody Capers, Ayu developed the overall visual direction for all of Her Interactive's casual titles and designed all the characters for each series. Despite critical acclaim, including 'Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger' winning Yahoo Games Best Hidden Object Game of 2009, the series came to an abrupt end as casual development was shut down.
Prior to that, as one of Her Interactive's 2D artists, Ayu Othman was responsible for the creation of realistic 2D maps, hotspot graphics, and puzzles for integration into 3D environments. She also enjoyed contributing to the research and brainstorming aspects of game design when allowed into the conference room.
Ayu is currently co-founder of and Art Director for a scrappy game startup called PassionFruit Games, LLC. All of its members are former contributors of Her Interactive's Dossier Series and the company has released its first romance hidden-object game called Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box.
Born in Malaysia, Ayu has been living in Seattle for almost 20 years. After participating in Seattle University's Honors Program, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Visual Fine Arts from Seattle University and recently completed her degree in Computer Animation at The Art Institute of Seattle. Prior to joining the Her Interactive team, she freelanced as an artist and animator and still freelances whenever possible.
When not face to face with a monitor of some sort, she enjoys more analog activities such as being outdoors, reading, drawing, growing vegetables, and imbibing in gustatory pleasures.
