Luis Mangubat started his career as a character artist in the video game industry in 1993 working at a small arcade company.
In 1995, he joined Midway Games and helped create the NFL Blitz franchise which he would work on for the next three years.
In 1999, he joined the Mortal Kombat team and began redesigning and modeling most of the major characters for Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. This would continue on Mortal Kombat Deception and Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
In 2007, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and began working on modeling many of the DC characters for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
