Developer Biography

Jay Smith (listed in official documents as Jay Smith III) founded Western Technologies Inc. and Smith Engineering as early as 1980.

Jay was the original creator and engineer of both the Microvision and Vectrex gaming console systems. Neither of these consoles had a very long tenure in the industry; production and support for the Microvision ending in 1981 after only 3 years, while the Vectrex left the market in 1984 after only 2 years.

Before the above, Jay is rumored to have been a Mattel employee.
