While Dave Andsager claims to have never been a die-hard gamer, he's been excited watching the evolution of game engines, each generation doing more than the last. Looking for interesting work he could do with a physics degree, he decided to stay in Champaign, Illinois, to be near family. He soon found Volition and discovered he could do physics work on FreeSpace, where the problems are interesting and fun.

Dave has also flown an airplane in 5 of the 50 states, and likes to read and spend time with his 19 month daughter, Irene. He also claims that working in a greasy pizza restaurant in Florida one summer helped push him into physics work.
