James began working for Acclaim Entertainment during the early 90's. Working on such titles as WWE, Marvel, Simpson's, and most notably Mortal Kombat.

After his departure from Acclaim, James went on to write strategy guides for such companies as Gamepro, Gamefan, Tips and Tricks, and Brady Publishing.
