Majel Barrett is a key person in the world of Star Trek. She was first cast in Star Trek as Nurse Christine Chapel back in 1966. A couple of years after this she married creator Gene Roddenbury and remained married to him until his death in 1991. She is now probably well known for the voice of, it seems, all Starfleet computers in the new TV series(The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager) as well in the Star Trek films and computer games.
