Juan Linietsky is involved with game development technology for over two decades. He is best known as the creator and technical lead of the Godot game engine, a widely used open-source game engine. His fields of expertise include engine-level implementation of 3D rendering, shaders, physics engine design (2D and 3D), compiler and script language design, visual scripting design, GUI toolkit design, tool design, audio, DSP and synthesis, porting (PC, consoles, mobile), and optimization.
Juan is also the co-founder and CEO of W4 Games, where he focuses on facilitating the adoption of the Godot Engine by enterprises. He also plays a key role as a founding member of the Fundación Argentina de Videojuegos (FundAV), where he oversees the organization's efforts to promote game development in Latin America.
Throughout his career, Juan has been involved in various ventures and projects. Between 2015 and 2018 he worked at Sixth Vowel as a game development consultant and technical director. As the Co-Owner and Technical Director of OKAM Studio, he provided technology and guidance for clients such as McDonald's, Square Enix, and Daedalic Entertainment (2012-2015). Before he also provided consultancy work through his company Codenix (2009-2012), and worked at QB9 Entertainment (2010-2012), Minor Studios (2009), Sabarasa (2007-2009), Lionstracs (2003-2006), NGD Studios (2002-2003), RuralNet (2000) and El Sitio (1999 - 2000).
