Mark S. LoweDeveloper BIO
Born in Wiesbaden Germany in 1969, Mark grew up programming computers from the age of 11, starting first with generating binary sprites for his uncle Clint Ellis, and then taking on actual programming tasks by the age of 12. Being an affluent illustrator and an inspired musician, Mark combined his programming and artistic skills to create paint programs, music synthesizers, and eventually video games before graduating high school. Mark entered the video game business in April of 1989 where he started as an illustrator for
Aftershock /
Atomic Entertainment a division of
Activision.
By 1990 with the team member
Dan Chang, Mark had worked to design and illustrate his first original commercial video game
Mutant Warriors with Dan, which was eventually sold to
Virgin Mastertronics in late 1990.
Mark continued to study music, programming, and digital arts both 2D and 3D until he completed ring walk music of EA's first installment of
Knockout Kings in 1998. Mark continued to do several sound effect packages for
3d6 Games which programmed primarily GameBoy titles.
Having migrated many programming skills online, Mark began working formally at
Electronic Arts in 1999 where he was Director of Front End Development creating the new EA.com.
Since then Mark has started his own video game company
Zero G Games out of Huntington Beach, California. Zero G Games focuses on casual game publishing and development, and multiple player Flash platform development. Mark and the team have been the lead engineers on gaming platforms such as Atari's Games.com, iWin.com, Yahoo.com, Airplay.com, and others.
