Stephen received his Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science in 1986. After working on one of the largest video game systems of all time - the B2 Stealth Bomber at the Northrop Corporation - he switched into games, starting at Virgin Interactive Entertainment in 1990, where he was in charge of all product development until 1994. During that time he grew the development team from eight people in Irvine, CA., to 180 people world-wide, and was instrumental in the acquisition of Westwood Studios.

From 1994 until 1999 Dr. Clarke-Willson consulted on interactive software of all kinds with clients in Hollywood, Chicago, Texas, Ontario, and Silicon Valley. He joined Dan Elenbaas in 1999 to help found Adrenium Games, Amaze Entertainment’s advanced game platform studio, with the sole purpose of pushing next generation console platforms to new levels of graphic quality and fun.
