A Yale student by the name of Jesse Maiman has sued U.S. Airways in Hamilton County court when he claimed his Xbox 360, with a "specialized hard drive", was stolen from baggage claim when he was traveling from Connecticut to Ohio. He is suing for $1,700 for damages in the loss over the console and the maximum allowed for damages which happens to be $1 million dollars.

User AvatarYeah, good luck with that. "I'm not telling" is not going to cut it when a lawyer or judge asks him what exactly made that "specialized hard drive" so valuable.

And anyone who checks in a harddrive for a flight would be very naive to not expect it to be broken afterwards.

Wait, wasn't that the land of opportunity? The place where some woman sued McDonald's because her coffee was hot and got a gazillion doubloons out of it? Whenever did retarded justice cease to work? =(
We all have been frustrated with airlines, but this strikes me as yet another example of someone's disproportionate sense of entitlement.
User AvatarEven if this Xbox was worth $1,000,000 to him, you would think he wouldn't let it out of his sight, especially while traveling. Kind of shows you how frivolous this is.
Maybe he's a disgruntled ex-employee of 3D Realms and the hard drive contained a leaked copy of Duke Nukem Forever. Although is that really valuable? Hmm, I sense a weekly poll coming up.
Nothing beats a suing.

Except if you're from any other country but the states.
