User AvatarThe Supreme Court will hear a case, "American Needle vs. National Football League," regarding the legality of the NFL's exclusive licensing arrangement with Reebok. The SCOTUS will hear arguments in 2009 or 2010.

A ruling against the NFL would jeopardize the NFL's current exclusive video game license with Electronic Arts. Potential exclusive licenses with the NBA and NHL would also be affected by the ruling; both leagues have asked the Court to rule in favor of the NFL in "American Needle."

User AvatarI agree with the sentiment regarding the Madden license, but I'm not optimistic. The lower courts have favored the NFL so far...
