User AvatarYes, you heard right!

The last news post was from June 21, where we congratulated Joyvalley for reaching 40,000 points, whereby the last 10,000 were contributed in just 45 days.

Now he had topped his own record again and pointed the last 10,000 points in just 43 days!

Once again, congratulation for Joyvalley.

He is now the 8th MobyGamer to break the 50,000 point threshold!

Prognosis:

While we all know that Sciere is out of reach for some time, the second highest MobyGamer is Corn Popper, with just a little more than 66,000 points.

With 10,000 points in about 40 days, Joyvalley should put Corn Popper to position three in 65 days, or about 2 months!

Stay tuned. :-)
User AvatarWho would have thought we'd still see stunts like this after ten years of MobyGames... that's just amazing!
User AvatarInsane. Absolutely insane. And all done without the aid of screenshots. It boggles the mind.

...congratulations. :)
User AvatarCongratulations to the Teutonic powerhouse!

43 days for 10,000 points

User AvatarWow over 5000 scanned covers this year, your scanner must be really wearing out by now.

edit: and doing the math, assuming an average scan time of 7 sec, it's 10 hours of continuous scanning, that's not including editing time.
User Avatar7 seconds? I need to get a new scanner. o_o Mine takes closer to 30 to do a full scan at 300dpi. Though it is nearly ten years old...still works perfect though!

Same for me - but that's no wonder with my 2001 PC and USB1.1 - each time the scanner drivers starts - the xp device manager remembers me: "Hey, you freak - you could be much faster using an usb2.0 for your Canon MX300..." - and my answer to him is always the same "FuXX you" ;)

Haha, I guess Canon just builds indestructible scanners...running a Canoscan N650U here. Haven't been using it nearly to the degree that you have, though. :)

It is, actually. Some of his more recent scans show a faint vertical white line through the image. It's the first sign of over-usage I guess ;)

Congrats Joyvalley!

Hanging out in MobyGames and actually having a life? Blasphemy! :)
User AvatarAnd I actually thought "MobyGames" and "having a life" is an oxymoron. :P
User AvatarThe Germans are invading! The Germans are invading!

User AvatarIn the past we did a long tiresome warfare here, but Joyvalley tried the Blitzkrieg and it apparently works here too. :P
User Avatar...yet the world never seems to learn from its mistakes and realizes always too late. :)

Well, I'll be in the front lines when the Japanese invade. Too bad they don't speak English very well. :p

Hey! They didn't have my permission for making a vid of me, aaah that will bring money ;)
Congratulations! I needed two years for 10,000 points O.o
User AvatarI've been here more than five years and I still haven't broken 10k.

I feel so... so... lazy.
User AvatarNeither have I - I greatly respect it when people are able to contribute so much to the project.

Remember when MG used to give out games for reaching a certain amount of approvement points? They'd be poor by now if they still did that. Btw, I still haven't received my second game that I chose at the time :P
User AvatarThanks a lot to everyone - to all those that contribute - and help MobyGames to grow each day - and thanks to the whole team of Admins and Approvers - hey! these guys still have a really hard time with me - and that's not because that i contribute sometimes a few things.

It's still great fun to be here - i'm sure more for me with Moby - than for Moby with me ;)

But i have good news :) ... and bad news :( ...

Let's start with the bad ones... correction.... the bad one: Looks like you still have to bear me. But keep your heads up! because of the good news:

It looks like i won't be able to contribute much the next time, and i'm afraid i don't mean hours or days, looks more like weeks and months. I hope this will raise the spirits especially of those "freaky mass-contributors" that take place directly in front or in back of me on the "All time top 50 Contributors" board. Perhaps this will help some of the approvers to brace their energies ...and enjoy their upcoming holidays - they really deserve it !!!

Since when "bad" is "good" and vice versa?

Congratulations! Sciere, beware!
