View Mode: threaded | watch thread To strengthen the forces working at the back-end of the site, long-time German contributor and approver Xoleras has been appointed an administrator at the site. After getting used to all the quirks and inner workings, I'm sure he'll be able to get a lot more done. Good luck!
He already addressed a correction I've sent some time ago and thought it will remain untouched for at least a century, like all corrections. Thanks Xo!
And a correction I sent in last night, of which I had the exact same thoughts.
I'm not cheering until my stuff from a year ago is handled, though ;)Congrats, Xoleras! Great news! Now we can pester 3 admins with our stupid little questions instead of 2!PS. 6 admins? There aren't more than 3 active right now, are there? Four. Brian too, although he is more on the technical side.
Yes, and though Brian is working more away from the public here at the site, he is actually the most important person here. Holding anything together. :)
Congratulations, Xoleras. This is excellent news.
Congrats Xoleras couldn't think of a better person for the job, but now your D, O, N, and E keys are going to wear out on your keyboard :).
I'm proud to be the one who gave him the pleasure of creating his first new tech spec! I can say I saw that coming, you've been working a lot for the site and you have the expertise needed. Huge congrats, Oliver, you deserve it!
Big congrats! You totally deserve it. :)
Congratulations, Oliver, you definitely deserve this, though it may be more of a curse than a blessing ;-)
I guess a curse is the better word. :P
Congratulation! Sounds very good. Any hints on what will be happening to the site in the future? Just curious.
This is completely unrelated, means: I have no clue. =)The fact is that over the years the number of contributions have drastically increased, resulting in more approver work. But some stuff is out of reach for approvers (e.g. the correction queues in general, and maintenance at company entries etc.), this is where I come into play: giving Sciere and Corn Popper a helping hand. :) But to be honest, it's a long way to go, means a lot to do. The best advice for you all is still the same old one: provide useful sources (if it isn't really that obvious) and submit the stuff at the proper places (it's of no use to submit a tech-info correction with "game was rated USK 16"). (Edited by Indra was here Xoleras becomes the sixth admin Indra was here Told ya. Does anyone ever listen to me? Nooooo.
Congrats Xoleras ! Sorry about you not having any free time in the future. ;)
Thanks to all for the congratulations.Hmm, I'm not sure what I should write more here. :) But I can tell you, when approvers welcome a new approver, it's said "welcome to the dark side"... but compared to the back-end, this "approver dark side" is more like an evening in summer. =) Fun fact: it took me half an hour to give me myself full approver access, so complex have the site - in general - become. :-)
Ah congratulations. I was wondering why all of a sudden all those old corrections got processed :-D
Same here, he's already doing a great job! Woohoo :D
Xoleras addressed most of my old corrections, and what's more, he came to my house and gave me a feet massage! For free! We should've made him an admin, like, a year ago!
A big congratulations, Mr. Jahn! :-D
I was wondering when it was finally going to happen. A man with an almost frightening love to precision, nearly unlimited patience, meticulously working mind, and undeniable administrative talents as Oliver would certainly be a great asset as the Fifth Patriarch of the Moby Clan!
70+ of my corrections approved in the last few days? I like this new regime!
In average, every second game correction has at least one duplicate submitted - sometimes even from the same user. =)By the way, it's going slowly though; at cover art, I'm still at corrections from 2008. I've gone through some of mine and removed some duplicates. When you get caught up, hopefully, things won't back up so badly again.
Excellent! Congratulations indeed, and as for corrections: truth is beauty; thanks for making the site more beautiful.
I agree with that! Thanks Oliver!
