Lain Crowley (5405), Oct 28, 2010 The Virtual Boy, that poor little system that really couldn't. It included a built in feature to automatically pause itself every 10 minutes so as to prevent the user from sustaining permanent eye damage, and yet no one thought this might be indicative of larger flaws in the system.Still, it managed to have some diversity in the scant 22 games released during its lifetime. It had a Wario game that to this day has not been ported to any other platform. It had a 3D flight game, a first-person shooter, two different bowling games, and even the first appearance of the Shin Megami Tensei series outside of Japan. And, of course, there was a Gundam game. Today we remember the Virtual Boy for what it was: a strange forgotten relic with some interesting stories to tell. Exactly the sort of thing we love here at MobyGames. Kudos to all involved!Completed systems are a wonderful thing to achieve. Ah, good ol' VB - the precursor to the 3DS. Galactic Pinball and VB Wario Land are awesome games, pity about the system. If you ever get a chance, check it out, it really is a strange piece of kit!Well done to all on achieving this great milestone! Another goal accomplished: congratulations to all involved! ;-D
Aw, man, neat! Great job!I played the Virtual Boy back when I was a wee tot. I remember that Teleroboxer was pretty cool. I've had plans to buy one for a while, but never the disposable income. I've always been a fan of Galactic Pinball and Mario Clash.Unfortunately, my Virtual Boy was a joint purchase between a friend and myself back in middle school, and he ended up with it in the end. I'd like to play it again sometime... =| (Edited by chirinea (31388), Oct 29, 2010) Re: MobyGames now has every Virtual Boy game on file chirinea (31388), Oct 29, 2010 Hurray!
Here is a TV feature about the guy with the largest collection of gaming systems world wide (Guiness World Record owner), who happens to live in my home town. (o:It's in German, but interesting nonetheless. The gaming part starts around 9:00 at the ticking clock. And Virtual Boy inside. =) Hehe, that was interesting :) And they said about the Virtual Boy - "3D virtual reality!... with eye pains" :)
So who's going to kidnap him to force him to document all his stuff here?
Yeah, guess the kidnapper is me then. :o)But what if he is silently contributing already? Xoleras it's not, but Terok maybe? This reminds me, my system list wasn't up-to-date. It is now, but no, it pales in comparison.

I particularly liked his motto: "Outwards analogue." He states that he doesn't take any gadget with him when on vacation or business trip, no mobile, no handheld, no laptop. It's his work. Now *I* should be ashamed of having more video games than music CDs... :) ![]() MZ per X Wrote:
