Combat will be turn-based as per tradition, with the player being allowed move around the battle field and execute an attack after a period of time. There will be five races to play as, with multiple jobs for players to choose. While players can complete the game entirely on their own, Dragon Quest X will have a fully-fledged online co-operative multiplayer component. Players will see other players in the game world and can assist them in battle. Also, players will be able to transfer their character to their Nintendo 3DS to take advantage of StreetPass. Additional quests will be made available at the same pace as the previous instalment or perhaps more frequently. Dragon Quest X is due for release on Wii and Wii U in 2012 in Japan. Details on beta testing are to be announced. Sadly, many of these news items are not being commented on or are being commented on very little, unlike in the past.
Here you have some comments, but I have nothing good to say. This means end of Dragon Quest for me. Or at least a game I'll skip it (Like Final Fantasy XI). No online for me, thank you. Even they tell game can be completed alone, it seems one can not play the game without online connection. That sucks. I did like DQ games 1-8, 9 was not so good. Problem with 9 was online. When I played alone (100% offline), all other party members were just generated nobodies: they talked nothing, had no background stories, etc. Totally different than so called normal JRPG. I am old skool fart, but I like new games too. Online is just not for me. Time to start playing some other JRPG series I've missed... PS: Final Fantasy 14 (another online FF) seems to be a total failure |
