View Mode: threaded | watch thread Oklahoma legislators are facing a major legislative battle in Oklahoma this week with the continuing battle over HB 3004, which would criminalize the sale or distribution of violent video games to minors, even by their own parent. Similar legislation has been declared unconstitutional six times over the last five years, but that isn't stopping state legislatures all over the country from passing similar bills.Passing this bill may deal a major blow to the video game community and subculture itself. If you or anyone you know lives in Oklahoma, please send a well-written letter to your state senators, or tell your friend to do so. More info: Video Game Voters Network Spread the Word: Send a Letter to OK residents When government steps in to tell parents how to raise their children, there is a big problem. :(I have nothing against limiting sale to minors (make parents buy the game for them if the parents feel it's okay to play), but don't make it illegal for parents to allow kids to play the games. Besides, it's a waste-of-time bill. It's all hot air. No one will police parents to see if they are letting their kids play games. They call it protecting America's families. I call it fascism. This is a big no-no when it comes to American rights. I wonder what idiot made it alright for Senators not to understand basic American liberties.
