MobyGames uses XO Communications for co-location. As reported a few months back XO closed the facility where MobyGames servers are hosted and we had to move to new facility. Obviously there were a few problems, but we didn't realize their depths of XOs incompetence. Since the move we had been getting double billed. XO had been charging us for the space in the old closed facility and space in the new facility. Since MobyGames was forced to leave the old facility it seems pretty odd that we should have to pay for it. For the last four or five months I have contacted Chris Timmons, our sales rep close to a dozen times. I was promised that the billing problems had been fixed and that XO would be issuing a refund for the amount over charged. Well today XO disconnected MobyGames due to non-payment.
After spending an interminable time on hold with Customer Care ( if there ever was an ironic name ) they transferred me to Collections. Collection basically told me I had to pay the remaining portion of our bill and redused to do anything. Fucker, I do not owe you anything!! See the bill details above. In fact XO has been deducting twice as much as they should from our account each month. Regular communication channels sucked and I ended up calling every single XO person I have ever received a business card from. Our sales rep didn't get back to us and neither did the facility manager. A contractor that was assigned to us to coordinate the moved finally helped us. After over an hour of downtime in the middle of the day XO finally turned us back on. Of course the billing issue hasn't been fixed, so some XO jackass may end up disconnecting us again tomorrow. Brian summarized out feelings perfectly, "I would pay $50,000 right now to buy all new equipment to move out of the XO datacenter".

I'll be spreading the word to everyone I know about their shady business practices. They don't deserve business if this is how they treat their customers.
I hope you're able to find a more ethical server company in the weeks to come. If that's a possibility that is.
WOW. My feelings exactly. I remember when XO started to go down the drain (less staff, no staff, then no access) but this takes the cake.
God that sucks.
I think thats the first time ive seen someone swear on this site too.
You should see the approval side of things.
Submit them to the BBB. It may not help much, but people do look there and it would hurt them to have what's going on posted on the BBB.
And after you report them to the BBB, look into what it would cost to have your own servers if you can't find anyone else. That company major sucks. And don't insult a giant monkey's ass that way. :-)
Well, There is a bright side to this.
You have the attention of several mobygame readers who'd gladly not use XO based on your "recommandations."
If you wish to find sympathetic souls, you'll find them in groves at dslreports. Not much love for XO there either.
