GameStop / EBGames started taking PS3 pre-orders today in its retail brick and mortar stores. The store I went to on Court and Atlantic in Brooklyn had a line that began sometime before 7AM. When the doors opened I was number 27. The allocation was extremely limited with only eight premiums and eight, I guess you call them regulars. Since I was off by about eleven people my mid-morning quest turned out to be an abject failure. Interestingly enough no pre-orders beyond the first sixteen were accepted.

Good luck to all my brothers and sisters out on the west coast hoping for a PS3 on launch day. If you haven't left your house to wait in line ... go NOW!
