Price matters
nullnullnull (1473), Dec 21, 2006
That Game Blog posted that "Microsoft and Burger King announced that the Burger King games have sold 2 million copies since they launched a little over a month ago." This puts Sneak King on par with Gears of War. Of course there were three Burger King games, it only cost $3.99 and the games were for Xbox and Xbox 360. Still, 2 million sold. That's a lot of crappy game. I wonder what the trade in value is?

User AvatarWell, it is my understanding that you have to buy a 'big value meal' or whatever to get the game at that price, and of course when people go in and take the kids (which I'm sure is a major audience for such games), they buy their dinner there and generate even more revenue for the company. I guess you could consider it loss leading for BK, but at the same time I doubt that the cost of development and distribution of those games even comes close to that of a retail title.

User AvatarAlso note that these three games are free advertising for Burger King in a lot of gaming magazines and websites (including here at Mobygames). Otherwise "Burger King" probably wouldn't show up in text anywhere.

I know I feel like driving down for a hamburger after reading this forum post for instance...

User AvatarAccording to a lot of sources the games weren't half bad.

I haven't gotten a chance to play them yet though.
