arstechnica is reporting that each Sunday morning hopeful shoppers are lining up at local BestBuys, Circuit Citys and Wal-Marts.
"Eleven weekends later, the Wii is extremely hard to find, and a number of people are still willing to get up, get in line, and get really cold, all for a chance to buy it." Nintendo claims they are shipping over 100,000 units a week. Apparently retailers are holding onto supplies and releasing it each Sunday. I can only speculate what the rational behind the simultaneous release each Sunday is all about. For those of you who do not yet have a Wii and want to get the mini launch experience head down to your local big box electronics retailer early Sunday morning. Let us know how it goes.
I only recently got a Wii at Wal-Mart, but I didn't wait in line. I, instead, called ahead and the store had five. Needless to say, I rushed down to the store and picked up a Wii. I didn't have to worry about getting a game, since I already bought Twilight Princess at launch day (about two months ago).
(Edited by WildKard (12186), Feb 05, 2007) Re: Experience Wii launch day ... every Sunday WildKard (12186), Feb 05, 2007 This is getting really strange... I mean back in my day the impulse buying didn't take so much effort. I mean I either bought something or I didn't... and after that the moment of "impulse" had passed either way. And that's what it is of course, because Sony Says so... and now that playstation 3's are plentiful... there's no excuse for all this silliness to continue.. I mean... The revolution doesn't start until Sony says it does! Stop lining up!Mmmmmm. Zelda. I just happened to walk into EBGames today and asked and they had 1 in so I took it.
