User AvatarNintendo bet that the new Wireless Wii consoles would be a hit with all generations. It was a very good bet as many seniors are discovering how fun it is to play games on the Wii.

Link to CNN article.
User AvatarI'm surprised they found it at all.
User AvatarAnd if they don't wonder the next day what the white toaster is doing in the living room.
User AvatarNow if only they get rid of the cartoon characters!

If you're starting a petition for that, you know you can count me in, man.

Hey, we could start an anti-cartoon campaign against Nintendo. I can see it now...appearences on national TV, celebrity cameos, mandatory Mario-free zones around schools...what's to stop us?

Hm, maybe those millions of kids buying those millions of crappy games making those billions of dollars for Nintendo.

But what about a campaign to lift that Nintendo anti-pornography ban? I'd like to see Mario & Yoshi involved in some real action game. Some kind of Run'n'Jump would be fine. (Greetings, Ace of Sevens!)

Mario and Porn? Ewwww.

...hmm come to think of it. Nope. Still...ewww.
User AvatarBut why? It's not so far fetched. Think of hentai! And look: Mario is a plumber, and what's the plumber's role in your average porn flick? Right.

All United for the Sexual Liberation of Mario! He has a right to a sex life! And we have a right to know about it!

(Hm, this has definitively gone off-topic... :-)

I will personally thump the first person (besides myself) who starts the idea of Mario and Luigi doing a Brokeback Mountain sequel...or worse...a new game group.

Eww...

Hey, there's an idea! They already have porn 'tashes and have a body build similar to Ron Jeremy.

Or at least one to ask --nay, demand more "oooopsie-and-just-how-did-that-slip-into-the-game-rolleyes-LOL" kind of upskirt shots. You know, like those in Xenosaga.

I mean, what kind of sick, perverted, twisted, degenerate japanese game designer doesn't include semi-erotic images of underaged girls in his games? Where is this world going to?
User AvatarI doubt it, older people really aren't interested in video games. I shouldn't talk though, my grandpa owns a PS2.
User AvatarSee? There are older people interested in video games -- if only for giving their grandchildren something to keep them occupied...

Seriously, I think that slowly but surely there will be a LOT of senior gamers. At the moment, most old people never have been interested in computer games, but in some years, those who grew up with Atari in the 1970s will be seniors. And the old people I know play the games they played they were young.

And don't forget that standard computer games don't require much physical effort, so they're well suited to old people who can't do sports.
User AvatarFor any particular person it just takes the right experience and ease-of-use. My grandma enjoyed solitaire on the PC, and now I've got her into playing card and puzzle games on DS. My grandpa didn't even do that, but he enjoys a round of Wii Sports if I bring the system over.
