View Mode: threaded | watch thread Always ready with witty remarks in our forums and contributions that usually push MobyGames' boundaries a bit further, he's one of our most well known regulars. Our beloved approver and contributor Pseudo_Intellectual just became the 14th person in MobyGames' history to reach the 20,000 points mark!Congrats Pseudo, and keep up the excellent work! Congratulations! I think Pseudo should be awarded bonus points for his extraordinary descriptions.
Strangely, I think about turns of phrase used and missed jokes for months after writing descriptions. I'm still not over my failure to work Mavis Beacon into my description of the F*ck Typing game. Some of my latest quixotic projects on mobygames have included extending credits to uncredited cover artists and the composers of public domain classical music pieces used in game soundtracks. This is a good way to spend hours and hours earning six points 8) In my spare time here I also like writing descriptions for game groups which have none, as well as creating new groups from scratch... which also for some reason carries no point bonus. Mostly I just conduct fearsome debate with the approvers... and sometimes I even do it in the forums! Congrats Pseudo !
Yayy, Pseudo, whose wit and humor are as essential to these forums as they are enjoyable in the database!
20,000 points. Wow, that's quite a feat! Congratulations Pseudo! I'm sure you'll be breaking 50,000 next, probably within the next month or two.
Congratulations, Pseudo! :-D
Great job, Pseudo!
(Edited by Pseudo_Intellectual (42315), Mar 03, 2008) Re: Pseudo_Intellectual breaks the 20,000 barrier! Pseudo_Intellectual (42315), Mar 03, 2008 Macs Black is the man to look at for those kinds of growth rates! He's appears to be largely dormant at the moment, but from the moment he stirs, he's racking up points big-time. He'll be at 50 by the time he gets out of bed, 250 when he leaves the shower and 750 by the time he's finished breakfast. My secret was finding a huge reservoir of MS-DOS games with no screenshots and just plugging those holes up. Progress is much slower now that I've largely moved to the "generate points through new game submissions only" way of doing things. (Of course, similar screenshotless reservoirs exist to boost contributors by tens of thousands of points in consoles and 8-bit microcomputer formats here... I just chose a satisfying intersection of emulation-ease and relative-sophistication-of-platform that happened to be where my nostalgia lay 8) Great stuff! Congratulations!
Well done sir! Your descriptions have caused much joviality and intrigue over here :)
You're also the top Canucklehead so cheers to you on that as well :)
Hey Pseduo, I wanted to say congrats on your successes and that you were one of the first guys who welcomed me when I joined last year with a encouraging nudge, so thanks from me for that. That said, I can never understand a single thing you write. If I manage to muscle my way through to the bottom of any text of yours, what meaning that has eluded me is replaced by the illusion of wisdom for having finished said text, something quite not unlike finishing an episode of Star Trek: Next Generation. So, my nerd dream is to finish a sentence of yours before you do. Zzzzz....
