The recent Browser platform addition was certainly what pushed us over the edge, as we are experiencing an intense load of incoming submissions. As we state in our FAQ:
MobyGames is the world's largest and most flexible electronic game documentation project in existence. And best of all, it's added to, rated, and reviewed by you--the gaming public. MobyGames is, literally, built by gamers.
For that we thank you, dear contributors. Keep up the good work!
I know there is a way to look up the number of unique games (i.e. not counting multiple platforms for a single game). I think Terok knew how to find that. Can anyone tell me that number?

Yay ! We beat other site's butts !
Even if I could, what should I see? :-)
Personally, I also like to subtract compilations (currently 1570), which still leaves us with 20486 unique games.
When was 30 000? It was less than a year ago, wasn't it?
It was 37,144 on 1st January 2008.
Did you hear that, slaves? Work harder! Submit more games!
According to our news archive, it was around October 15, 2006.
This site is pretty, pretty nifty. Is there any chance that formal Blogging within our usersheets will ever begin?
