I noticed there's this social media widget thing on the side of every page on MobyGames now. Was it there all along and I just didn't notice it until today?
I noticed it today too and was about to comment, I guess it is new.
It wasn't there this morning. The changelog doesn't mention it, however...

Yeah, I asked Brian to add so that we can give it a try to drive more traffic.

I hope that doesn't mean we're low on traffic.
no, I just want to try and get it better so we're more attractive to get better pricing on clicks

We should get a twitter page for MG.
Just saw it and I'm already following. Now all we need is regular tweets! =)
I'm a computer nerd and generally not qualified to speak on matters involving aesthetics but... the widget sort of clashes with the rest of the MG theme. :-)

IT HURTS USSSSS
IT HURTS OUR EYESSSS
Where would be a better place to put it, or a different look?
I don't mind it, as long as there's an option in the profile to turn it off too. It catches the eye too quickly and I never use such functions.
Perhaps at the top row, where the search box etc is. Either to the left or right. I don't think it would not look as out of place as now. (But you don't want to hide it either, if the aim is to drive traffic.)
Or, to be more user friendly, it should be placed inside the "main frame" to indicate that you are sharing that particular page.
On a side note: Since AddThis keeps stats, it would be interesting if you could share some stats after a while. Personally I have never used something like this, but they are very popular on blogs etc. Does anyone here use them?
I think it should be under User Actions since that's what it is after all. Maybe it would be better with transparent background colour rather than white? That way it would fit in better with the rest of the links. The icons alone would make it stick out.
