In the last two days I've submitted 6 new titles (edit: and they've been approved -- thanks, Oleg!) but there are still a few I don't feel like I could provide an adequate description for.I'm actively working on the remaining Japanese exclusives, but in a curious twist it's the remaining English releases -- all of them sports or simulation games, unless there are any not accounted for here -- that are beyond me. And so I am sending out a call for help to finally top off one of the most important platforms of its day! There's less than two dozen games remaining, so even just one new entry will bring us significantly closer. Anyone interested in helping? :) Checked the list, and the only game left that I'm aware of is MIG 29. I had a cartridge in the '90-s and played it a lot. I'll contribute this game.

Whew. MIG-29 pending.
Thanks for adding this flightsim!
SEGA Sports 1 added
(Edited by Sciere Re: Megadrive/Genesis completion -- little help? Sciere I've also taken World Series Baseball '96 and World Series Baseball 98.
Are you sure the list is complete?

I'm 100% sure it's complete for Japan releases, but last night I was combing release an ROM lists elsewhere and found a handful of other missing European and Brazilian releases. I've added them to the list. I'll probably do another pass tonight on the EU stuff, but in the meantime, feel free to point out anything else that's missing. :) I'm mostly talking licensed releases, though. Unlicensed releases, particularly Chinese ones, are a whole other can of worms. International Rugby has been added.
Excellent! Approved. :)
Gunship has been added.
Menghuan Shuiguo Pan: 777 Casino approved. ;)A little game from Taiwan. Thanks everyone! It's great to see so many new entries, and the ball is very much in my court now. I've got six more Japan exclusives left to write up and submit... will see how many I can do tonight. :)The only US release remaining now is Warrior of Rome II, which unfortunately I looked at and found to be completely impenetrable. Any strategy experts out there who could take a look at this one? There's also Art Alive, but I don't think it meets our criteria for being a "game" -- it's a simple paint & animation tool, and I don't think there's any minigames in it that might slip it in. Beyond this, there's a fair number of unlicensed Taiwanese titles left, but that is a battle for another day. I'll hesitate to claim completion until someone else makes sure I haven't missed some obscure Brazilian compilation or PAL exclusive, though. ;) I'll see if I can deal with the Taiwanese ones.
Arrr, the Chinese ROM download site appears to be off. Anyone knows where I can download those Taiwanese MegaDrive games? Figuring out titles and writing descriptions would be much easier then.
Unfortunately, the ones I have, I downloaded *years* ago and couldn't hope to find again. There a pretty good list of unlicensed games here, if it isn't blocked in China. (Edited by GTramp (17512), Aug 31, 2012) Re: Megadrive/Genesis completion -- little help? GTramp (17512), Aug 31, 2012 Try this one: http://pristavka.kulichki.net/console/sega_genesis/roms/11331_elf_wor/ , browse the site for other downloads.[upd] I also had this unlicensed Pocket Monster II for MegaDrive back in the day ( http://www.segaretro.org/Pocket_Monster_II ), and I'd contribute it, but I have no idea about the release date. The wildest guess is that it was released after the first Pocket Monster ( http://www.segaretro.org/Pocket_Monster ) which has 2000 on the cover. If anyone has any ideas about the release info pls post here. (Or contribute it yourself if you wish so :)) hehe "elf wor", aka jiangshi ate my neighbors :D

Unless there's something I've missed somewhere, this means we have every single licensed game from every region documented. The following titles are not listed since they don't meet our criteria for "games":
I'm holding off on submitting a news post until someone checks that I haven't missed anything (and these last few are approved), but I'm pretty confident at this point. Great news and great work! The rush to finish this off was pretty impressive. On a side note: According to this thread Toxic Crusaders needs to still be split off into it's own entry. (Edited by GTramp (17512), Sep 03, 2012) Re: Megadrive/Genesis completion -- finished! GTramp (17512), Sep 03, 2012 Yeah. That post is half a year old already? I was going to get to it, but never had time enough :)[upd] It's also not the only MegaDrive game that needs to be split, of course. A split for Toxic Crusader entry pending now.
...which requires admin attention.

There are more, but in most other cases the Genesis version is the one that should stay and other platforms should be split. Awesome work, jotaro! I wanted to help in this last effort, but I was unfamiliar with the remaining games. At least I know I've contributed a handful of games for the Mega Drive, a platform I'm very much fond of.To your "not-listed" titles, please add TeleBradesco Residência, a homebanking software for Meganet released in Brazil. Actually, I've been thinking: we should have those listed somewhere. Maybe we could create a fixed thread with a post for each platform, listing entries that couldn't get here because they're not games. That would only apply to console platforms for obvious reasons. I've added it to my list, thanks! :) There sure were a lot of home-banking systems for the Megadrive... Great job everyone.Next: C64 ;D Go ahead and add all those non-games. As per Corn Popper rule, software for dedicated gaming machines is allowed.

Oleg, would you care to link to the topic where this was mentioned by Rob? I ask just because I don't remember it, and there's at least one missing Zeebo entry if this is true. Sure: http://www.mobygames.com/forums/dga,2/dgb,1/dgm,162424/
Awesome, thanks!

This seems to only apply to "entertainment" software, so we may be able to sneak Art Alive and Flux in at best, but no way will three different home-banking cartridges make it in and stay that way. Didn't we also have an entry for Videomation on the NES once upon a time? Art Alive is basically a 16-bit version of that. Personally, I don't think any of them belong here. ...yeah, you have a point. I guess there is a difference between a digital manga and a banking software.
Yes, but they also have one important common factor: they should have no place on MobyGames. At all. Not that I have any saying in this, but this has to be one of the absolute worst MobyGames admin decisions I ever witnesses.
I'd still say, on the contrary, that we should document all software for dedicated game platforms. True 100% completion for such a platform is impossible if we leave out those non-games.
Seconded... PCs or computers are a whole different story, but game consoles I'm all for!

It's Rob's decision.

I could not care less. Our name is MobyGames - not MobyPlatforms, not MobySoftware and not MobyGamesUnlessWeIntroduceStupidDoubleStandards. Agreed.
My opinion is that MobyGames should stick to games only. We're not MobyConsoles. There are other websites that can document everything else (like *ahem* Wikipedia). I could give examples of almost-related stuff from PC world, say, demoscene productions, made by crews which later dabbled in games - or really interactive screensavers etc. I don't want this site get flooded by such entries.
What's the stance on CDi then? It's a "multimedia" machine.
Not too often i share Patrick's opinion, knowing that it's of no use to "vote" here for/against, but thirded from my side, too - the back stepping of Moby within the last 2 years, should not be argument to put the final boot into the databse. It was, it is (more or less) and it should ever be: MobyGames not MobyXYZ...
I remember someone, vedder perhaps, saying that we ought to draw the line at entertainment software for young children, which is often no more than an interactive pop-up book or colouring book without, again, any objectives except to see how many things you can "make happen" by clicking on enough hidden pixels on the screen. (Draw the line as in: include these, but nothing with less interactivity -- like screen savers, music composition programs, spreadsheets, etc.) (Of course, I'd even like to get in Infocom's Cornerstone spreadsheet just because it tells an incredibly important chapter in the company's life... and documentation of other application software by games companies, with obvious games connections, can also tell you valuable things about a company's direction at a moment in time, explain gaps in their employees' CVs... eg. why game X had such great sound after employee Y worked on music program Z. Knowing about eg. Drum Blaster helps you to understand why Jill of the Jungle sounded the way it did.) (I'm not going to actively lobby to include this stuff, except perhaps in a parallel sister site which could optionally unify company and developer game listings, but I do like to present its case.) Well, there's still a few splits to be done if you're that desperate. :)
