I just saw that Circuit City is going to liquidate their stores. It's a shame to see them go and a little bit troubling, but...CHEAP GAMES!!!
That's sad. What's even more sad is there's no Circut Cities around here. ;)

Isn't that the truth, problem is Best Buy ran them into the ground. I've got a few Circuit Cities (for now at least) near me and the problem is they barely have anything anymore, even before all this began and half the time I could find better deals over at Best Buy. (Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 16, 2009) Re: Time to raid Circuit City. DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 16, 2009 Hmm. Come to think about it, we don't have any Best Buys either ! We still have a Big Kmart though. They have lots of great stuff in their bins.
Hmmm... I am going to tomorrow and see if there are any deals on TVs
Kmart is absolutely amazing. I went in there last summer and they had such a random selection of games at great prices. Some really recent (and good) console titles for $5 each. Ker-azee! Oh yeah, and they also sell great tomato ketchup flavor chips :D
The bins were surprisingly empty today. But read here about what I got. I also got a awsome Nintendo shirt for five bucks.

Um, what? I've gone to K-Mart and every single game they had was over retail price. THREE YEARS AFTER THEY WERE RELEASED. Yeah I noticed some old games were kinda pricy. I asked a lady how much a copy of Tekken 4 was and she said 20 bucks ! Still, I love Kmart. Where else can you find GBC battery packs and VHS's about Christina Agulara and Rickey Martin ? 8D
It's the randomness of these stores... Sometimes you can pick up an unbelievable bargain. Other times, you just have to laugh at the ridiculous over-pricing. They obviously don't pay any attention to what's going on elsewhere in the market.

Except they ARE twenty bucks, that's the standard retail price for a Greatest Hits game. :P Edit: You should see the stuff I find at the local flea markets daily... (Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Feb 01, 2009) Re: Time to raid Circuit City. DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 17, 2009 The flea markets here are only in summer. The first Saturday in May is ALWAYS the best day to go to one. I go to this huge parking building, where it's 8 floors of bargains galore ! There's these two people who set up huge tables full of games I always go to. Last year, one guy had two whole boxes of NES games ! And he ony wanted like 3-5 bucks for each ! Stuff I buy from him almost always works. (Except some PS1 stuff predictably.) And that's just the games side of it. There are people selling anything you could possibly want ! Comics for a buck, huge piles of action figures and books for 25 cents each ! It's the one day of the year I look forward to more than any other. (Except my birthday.) And now you can see my apparent obsession with it. 8)
Waaaa, I wanna go. Nothing cool like that round here. We used to have an amazing, HUGE, used game store at the indoor market, but it closed down :(
(Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 17, 2009) Re: Time to raid Circuit City. DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 17, 2009 No worries Sam ! I'll be taking pictures this year. 8)Edit-And they do sell other stuff than what I mentioned. You have to go up a couple of floors to get to the good stuff. The bottom floors are filled with food vendors, cheap vinle hats, card sellers, guns, lawnmowers and those sound and light pictures of waterfalls. Oh, and yes, people DO start the lawnmowers to see if they work. XD Edit Edit- One more thing about the food stuff- It's actually good ! Fresh grown veggies and fruits, and hot dogs ! Yum yum. It depends on who is running that K-Mart. Brain-dead, three-assed, severely burned monkeys can run a store better than half of them. ![]() Big John WV Wrote: Foxhack Wrote:

Take that as you will. :p (Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 18, 2009) Re: Time to raid Circuit City. DANIEL HAWKS ! (1841), Jan 18, 2009 If you see a run down K-Mart (Which I have seen sadly.), you can thank Wallmart for that. They drove K-Mart out of Princeton. I remember when they were saying it would go out of business. They opened one of those "Super Centers" just down the road and K-Mart shut down. They couldn't even sell the building after they left, so they tore it down last year. The worst thing about it is, even if you hate Wallmart, you have little choice but to shop for stuff there. They drive almost everybody out of town when they come ! I hope this ressession chokes the life out of Wallmart.
Fat chance of that... Wal-Mart is the #1 retailer in the world and that's a fact.
The Wallmart share price is one of the few that is going up so the recession does not seem to be effecting them at all. I am so glad that they don't have Wallmart is Australia yet, competition is good thing.
