*running through all the internets*
Torment is finally in gog!, Torment is FINALLY IN GOG!!, TORMENT IS FINALLY IN GOG!!!!!; TORMENT IS finally in gog!!, Torment is finally in gog!
How awesome!! Bought this game 6 or 7 seven years ago BOXED, BOXED, BOXED, BOXED, BOXED, BOXED !!!!!! and Memorial Box i own TOO, TOO, TOO, TOO, TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've also got the box, but I bought it on GoG anyway. Now Torment will always accompany me!
... that sounded kinda weird...
Anyway, for me it's more like: "I don't pay for the games on GoG, but for the easy install and compatibility" No more swapping through 5 Discs during install or trying and testing Dosbox for hours. Just four clicks and all the glory from the good old times is back.
And the prices are just great. Especially with real currency exchange rate. No $ = € BS like Steam has.
Thanks to GoG I FINALLY was able to play and finish Gabriel Knight 1. For that alone, they have my thanks.
Then I wont be visiting gog. I don't like torment, and I have no idea how anyone possibly can. There's zero pleasure to be had. It's just painful...obviously.
I suppose you're into sadomasochism as well. Hmph.
... and gog is hence itself back in operation?
Has been since the relaunch on thursday. I will say that having BG and Torment is a start to earning back all that goodwill they burned with their marketing stunt, but they still have a long way to go (like maybe making their version of BG compatible with tutu, which it currently is not).
For two days they took the site down and said they could no longer keep gog running as it was, and that they were looking at options so that previous customers could in the future access the downloads they had paid for. At the end of it they brought the site back up and said oh, yeah, we're out of beta now. No big deal.
Also they dressed up as monks and begged forgiveness for their sins.
They are talking about a strong line-up for Christmas. They make it sound as if they are going to release surprise after surprise in the following months, but I don't see how they can go any better after BG and PT..., except for SS2 and BG2, and maybe Westwood some day?
>maybe Westwood some day?
EA has already released 3 of the C&C games as freeware.

They made games other than the C&C series, you know. I'm not sure if EA owns them, though.
Man, I don't even want to think what a legal quagmire all the old Battlemech games are, especially after the courts found in favor of Harmony Gold for the few designs that were lifted from Macross.
I think the Lands of Lore games and that one Blade Runner game are the ones on the 'caring list' for Westwood.
Thank you for the heads-up, just bought it!
Cool! Then I'm going right away and buy Fallout!! =D
OK, OK. Maybe I will also buy Fallout 2.
