Guys, I'm thinking about creating a wiki for documenting Brazilian consoles and games (specially those grey-market ones), and I'd like to know if any of you have advices on where to create it. I don't want to pay for the service at first, so a free service is preferred. I've been looking on Wikia and Wikispaces, but I know there are more options out there. Any suggestion?
I've been using Wikia for a pet project. Their code is good for simple formatting and it's unlimited image hosting. On the downside if you want more complex formatting you'll have to write it by hand, there's no spell-checking, and some of the image reviewers have an axe to grind with any and all nudity.

Thanks, Lain. I won't have any problems with nudity, I guess. One bad thing about it is that the advertising hurt the eyes!
Isn't that what Adblock & NoScript are for?

Thanks for the tip!
OK, so I started using it and I'm already having my ass kicked by the interface. It is simple, yes, but it seems broken in some parts. For instance, the tutorials show common templates at the right bar, but no templates appear there for me. I have to search for a name of a template if I want to use one, and it seems I can't even find a list of them with a short description. Also, despite of having created a handful of pages now, the home page still tells me I have 0 pages in my wiki. Anyway, I'll keep fighting.
How about using a wordpress blog instead of the wikia?
Pro Points are less ads and regulations, easy dashboard, and it is also easy to form wordpress that it does not even look like a blog
Another thing at wikia They have ads which play videos with sound sometimes and often ads i really would not like to see on my own site or projects.
Yeah, Pseudo has a blog for a different subject that seemed to fit as a wiki for me also, so it could be an option. But I actually started doing it (here, Portuguese only, sorry), it is ugly, has adds and almost no content, but I'm just starting it. :)
Ah ah ah, mine is at Blogspot 8) I'm always a little chuffed to see the traffic directed from the Moby approvers' pages...
