Basically, it's a satirical statement against political parties that promise hundreds of thousands new jobs, but don't deliver (Open VLD). Last national elections (I live in a federal country, read that page for an intellectual headache), the "NEE" (NO) party existed as well. It was created to attract the votes from Vlaams Belang, an extremist right-wing political party which has been held from power for many years only because the other parties have agreed upon a Cordon sanitaire. Many voters however, don't feel a bond with the other political parties and vote for Vlaams Belang with a democratic protest vote (they know Vlaams Belang won't be in power, but it is a clear sign, though dangerous). NEE works around political awareness and offers voters in Belgium the option to vote ‘no’ if they find that none of the parties deserve their vote (voting is obligatory at the risk of a fine).

The NEE party promises not to be represented in parliament when they receive sufficient votes. They will use the empty seats as a political statement instead. They are only represented in a few cities, and their influence is close to nil.

So, the party is real, the campaign is not, although an incredible amount of visitors has signed up. It is mostly a viral promotion for her indie film project as well.

The rules of conduct are amusing:

• Any attempt to influence the depth of insertion by the user will result in immediate end of service.
