Age of Mythology series
Group DescriptionThough to a certain extent thought to be (at that time) the long awaited "Age of Empires III" (apparently not) as it was the next game officially and traditionally published by Microsoft Game Studios and developed by Ensemble Studios as it uses similar game play mechanics with the Age of Empire series and was introduced after Age of Empires II It was also the first to use a 3D engine.
Unlike AOE series that normally focuses on historical battles, the AOM series introduces an interesting historical perspective: based on mythology. In this case, 3 major cultural mythologies were used in the plot and game play (which were used to replace nations/countries identified in AOE series):
Each culture introduces different unique heroes, units and special creatures based on each individual mythology or legend.
